Is SouthWestern Advantage a SCAM? (It is Free to Join But Not Worth Your While!)

I’d like to assume that the main reason you are here is that someone introduced you to SouthWestern Advantage system and the seemingly good business opportunity they have for you. Now you want to know if this is worth your while, right?

This in-depth research about a seemingly good business opportunity first will help keep scam companies at bay. The Information Highway is a trove of various online money making opportunities, but not every one of them is legitimate and reliable.

This is the reason why making a research first is paramount not only to your success but also to your safety and security, so you will not fall prey to scam organizations.

My review and analysis of the SouthWestern Advantage system are not biased and impartial. Simply because I am not associated with this MLM program or any other networking company for that matter.

Thus, rest assured that I am not inclined to take sides or would protect an interest, and with that, I can honestly say that I am delivering nothing but a truthful and honest to goodness review of the SouthWestern Advantage business structure.

If you are seriously looking for ways to develop your online passive income, I suggest you consideraffiliate marketing instead. I myself tried a manifold of online opportunities before, but this is the only platform that works so far.

Is Southwestern Advantage a SCAM

Summary: Even if this networking company is offering free membership to university students, the real deal actually comes from the fact that their members can't expect to receive regular salary but only after they make a successful sale. It is also preposterous to know that members are to shoulder all the expenses when trying to do a door-to-door sales approach. This is so far the most challenging way to sell anything. All these and many other reasons compel  me to discourage anyone from even considering to join this company.

 What is SouthWestern Advantage?

When people hear about this company for the first time, the initial reaction that they have is “ What is SouthWestern Advantage about?”.

Without any background information as to what they are exactly involved in, it feeds skepticism and doubt.

So, what is SouthWestern Advantage about?

SouthWestern Advantage is a multi-level marketing company (MLM) and is somewhat different from the previous networking companies I reviewed and evaluated in the past in the sense that they are not involved in the health and wellness niche, as countless others are.

What they are focused on is they offer seasonal internship programs. They cater this to the university students, which unfortunately is a sector of our society that is most lacking in job opportunities.

This company will have them sell their product lines ranging from educational books, software, and many more.

They hire young people as independent contractors. And when they become a full-fledged member of their network, they are expected to go out of their way and search for prospective clients. They do this by carrying out a door-to-door sales approach which will last for about 1 week.

Despite the various hurdles and challenges that come their way, like financial difficulties and poor working conditions, most of the time these students would just not mind about them and will decide to go on and sell.

They usually target to sell the products they have at hand in rural and suburban areas. The SouthWestern Advantage team is perhaps the oldest organization in the MLM sphere because the company was founded sometime in 1855 by James Robinson Graves.

Above all these, this is perhaps the only networking company that is accepting an aspiring independent contractor for free. They are more focused on generating sales from their products but not so much on recruiting new members to the team.

What Does the Company Offer?

As mentioned above, this network marketing company is utilizing the young, particularly the students, to become their human resource. The vast majority of MLM companies are in this kind of practice because it helps them save on employment costs, while at the same time they can expect to have a constant sales output if not some boost to it.

I consider this a red flag. Why so? We know that hiring students, young as they are,  as independent contractors as opposed to having them as employees will run the risk of them being exploited by the company.

How to Get Started with SouthWestern Advantage?

For the past few months, I have reviewed not just a handful of network marketing companies. Anyone wanting to join  any of those networking groups will have to shell out some cash first and settle the corresponding joining fees.

However, in the case of SouthWestern Advantage company, joining their network is free of charge.

But, of course, you need to sign up first to their program so you can become one of their independent contractors. After which, you will become a full-fledged member and they will provide you the products which you will need to sell in an assigned region.

The reason why you don’t have to pay for anything joining this MLM opportunity is that your income here will rely solely on the profits you will have from your sales output.

The Ugly Truths About SouthWestern Advantage Revealed!

Poor Working Conditions

I am very much appalled that this MLM is having their independent contractors render not less than 70 hours of work every week. It is very obvious to see that this is exceeding the limit to the working hours that can be required for a  working student to make.

Aside from this, the potential revenue that these students are likely to make will not, in any way, cover their daily living expenses.

They are Off Limits to University Premises

Due to the notoriety that this business structure has made in the past to university students in dire need of a  summer job in the 70s, the universities across these 2 countries (the US and the UK) took action against them -- by banning them from making entry to their school premises.

Despite those efforts, SouthWestern Advantage remained unfazed and continued in what they are doing up until today.

Will Not Compensate Members for Losses

Should you come across losses while doing your work (selling their products), they won’t budge a bit to compensate you.  Whatever expense you incurred while trying to market their products, regardless if you made a successful sale or not, it is not their concern.

You need to make a sale for you to earn from their system.

Everything this company cares about is your sales figures. It is the only thing that matters to them after you become a member of their team, and that’s it.

Poor Customer Support

It can be gleaned from the Better Business Bureau website that SouthWestern Advantage is riddled with complaints. The nature of which has something to do with customer issues regarding the quality of learning materials or books they purchased from them.

As of this writing, SouthWestern Advantage has an outstanding 92 unresolved complaints as per the BBB website.

What is SouthWestern Advantage about

Negative Reputation

I have actually come across another skincare networking company, SeneGence. In more ways than one, they are in a very similar situation as SouthWestern Advantage in the sense that no matter how they try to protect their business interest and make the company continue to grow,  the fact remains that the negative reputation they have earned for themselves across the UK and the US remain more magnified in the eyes of their non-member audience.

What Do I Like About SouthWestern Advantage?

While there are a lot of reasons why we should not patronize this networking company and keep the university students out of their reach, I like the fact that they are helping these young souls acquire basic business skills and give them good exposure to how the world of business really works.

Such a measure will give them the competitive edge they need to become successful in their chosen fields of interest later on life.

The relevant industry skills they acquire from their experiences with them will make them more prepared and ready for whatever challenge they might face the moment they embarked to the corporate or business world.

I also like the idea that they are trying to go against the societal norm that the “smartest”, youngest and the intellectually-gifted university graduates should be prioritized in any hiring process.

This will leave the young generation an impression that they need to hurry up and finish their studies fast because being young is their ticket to landing on their dream job. In truth it is not, it is their skills and everything they can bring to the table that matters to a company.

The SouthWestern Advantage team is leaving us a good example, worthy of emulation by other companies -- that we should go past the age requirement when hiring people for a job.

Regardless if they are still young or not, for as long as they have the relevant skills for the role, they should be given a chance to get hired.

Is SouthWestern Advantage a SCAM?

Talks are everywhere that SouthWestern Advantage is a scam, and not even a good opportunity to consider.  My personal take here, with respect to the research I made about this subject, this notion is due to the high failure rate they have.

Remember, they are targetting to "hire" young students and have them as independent contractors. They are not considered employees and with that, no regular income to have and yet there is also the manifold of expenses to mind about.

As independent contractors, they have an urgent need to make constant sales, otherwise, they will eventually find themselves in a financial hole.

So if someone takes the plunge and start working themselves up on this opportunity, there is absolutely no assurance for a regular income.

And to make things even more difficult for their already challenging situation, selling their educational material products are a challenge in itself but to also employ a door-to-door approach here -- will normally entail rejections and even ridicule from homeowners themselves.

Wealthy Affiliate is a great place for those who are Brand New into industry and totally no brainier to go. It provides Step by Step Training that bring your level to another success in Online Business. From market research tools to web building tools to domain registration, website hosting, website backups, site security, and much more, it’s all in one place. The only program that I ranked for 10/10.

Do you honestly think that you can endure someone slamming their doors on your face, each and everytime you knock at their doorstep to offer the products you have at hand? It is not going to be a fun experience I think, and I won't get used to it.

It is very likely that these young contractors will not make a sale and with that no income to look forward to. The moment they find themselves in this kind of situation, they would resort to validating their failure by virtue of making excuses.

Blaming themselves because they "failed" in the business.

So is there any truth to the SouthWestern Advantage scam? No, they are not a scam. But the extremely low success rate with this platform had the people qualify them as such.

How I Make Money Online?

When you fully understand how the MLM business model really works, you will agree with me in saying that this particular business structure is not the best vehicle to use to reach your goal of financial wellness.

Multilevel marketing is favoring so much the company itself and it's business interests, oblivious of the fact that it also needs to promote the interest of its network members as well. So forget everything you are made to believe about MLMs.
